The Kind Ride Share Program V 1.0 was originally written and released in 1998 as a Peace Conspiracy effort between several good hearted folks interested in alternative ecological conservation, commuting, hitching and other means of transportation. At that time, V 1.0 operated on a modified copy of Matt Wright's - WWW_Board script which is written in PERL and intended for primary use as a bulletin system. This creative project spawned several variations in style and format over the next few years and has since been expanded into the fully capable package presented here in PHP.

Subsequent changes in design, layout and choices of programming may have come and gone over the years however the ideology has consistently been to provide an intuitive forum for travelers to communicate securely while retaining full anonymity with that exchange of information. The Kind Ride Share has helped many people conserve not only fuel, equipment, time and energy, they have also made new friends in the process. We feel this is a very beneficial service to the community and appreciate all the comments, reviews and continued support.
